VR-Hut: First VR Experience

January 25, 2015

VR-Hut, Waterloo’s first VR experience. A whole new world at your fingertips.

The first virtual reality center VR-Hut officially opened its doors in late October in Waterloo. This new attraction, perfect for celebrating a birthday or organizing a team-building event, offers a whole range of experiences.

Among the dozens of scenarios available, players can become archers and must work together to defend a city, form teams and relive famous battles from World War II, escape from a variety of virtual escape rooms, enjoy an unforgettable experience that transports them high above the ground atop an 80-story building, or—for younger players—engage in games of speed and logic.

Multiplayer VR gaming

Although everyone has their own headset, the activity is still a group experience. In fact, VR-Hut offers a multiplayer experience that allows multiple people to connect to the same game and interact with one another. Up to 10 people can connect at the same time within VR-Hut.

“What’s incredible is that we see every day that people who hate video games love VR just as much as gamers do,” explains Arnaud Percy, co-founder of VR-Hut.

Two additional openings in Belgium in 2019… and three abroad.

At the helm of this project is Arnaud Percy. The co-founder of Belwatech immediately recognized the real potential of virtual reality: “In our industry, where technology is becoming an increasingly integral part of our daily lives at an ever-faster pace, we need to be pioneers and keep an open mind. “When I first tried a game with a virtual reality headset, I quickly realized that this was the future of gaming.”

Arnaud Percy plans to expand the VR-Hut concept to other cities very soon. In fact, Brussels and La Louvière are on the list.“We’re looking for locations for April 2019.”VR-Hut also has international ambitions, through franchises, particularly in Switzerland, Morocco, and Réunion.
